Cricklade Police Station

by | Feb 18, 2021

You may remember that in early 2019, our group applied and gained approval for the Police Station to become an Asset of Community Value. This meant that a community interest group, such as ours, has the right to become a potential bidder and is given the opportunity to raise funds to purchase the property for a limited period of time ahead of a general sale.

Yesterday, Wiltshire Council informed us that they had been officially notified by the Police Authority of their intention to dispose of the building. This notification starts the clock ticking.

Today, CDF have asked to be treated as a potential bidder and will work with the Police Authority with a view to purchasing the building in accordance with Part 5 of the Localism Act 2011. We therefore need to raise the funds and complete the purchase of the building for the community.

CRICKLADE NEEDS YOU to help with this and in the coming weeks you can expect to hear more from us.
